About Stackman Custom Homes

With 40 years of experience and expertise in home construction, John Stackman brings unparalleled craftsmanship to every home he builds. A lifelong Bellevue resident, John has deep roots in the community, shared by his wife, who is also a native of the area, and their daughter, a graduate of both Bellevue High School and Washington State University.

John's journey in custom home construction began in 1976 with Berhold Custom Homes, a family-owned business where he honed his craft through apprenticeships, which led to his becoming a true craftsman.

In January 1984, John Stackman embarked on a long-lasting partnership with Greg Newhall and Gary Jones. "These are two special people in my life. I have learned a lot professionally and personally from them," John reflects. During his time with Greg and Gary, John gained valuable management experience in residential home building. In 1990, they launched Encore Custom Homes, a company dedicated to designing and building homes with its own team. Encore's first Street of Dreams home was completed in 1995, followed by three more notable entries in the prestigious event. After 30 years of collaboration, Greg and Gary have retired from land development and building.

In 2014, John established Stackman Custom Homes (SCH). His operations manager, Jason, has been with John throughout his career, and together, they make the experience of building a home with SCH exceptional.

John prides himself on maintaining exacting standards and attention to detail, regardless of the project's size, lot constraints, or architectural style. He involves homeowners at every stage of the process, assisting with lot feasibility and collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and designers to fulfill each buyer's vision and expectations. John believes communication is key to building long-term relationships based on trust, making working with clients the highlight of every new project.

Clients can expect to be as involved as they wish, staying informed through emails, phone conversations, and site meetings. John engages significantly with clients, striving to create homes as unique as they are, with the ultimate goal of building each home as if it were for himself. Every detail matters, resulting in homes of timeless beauty, lasting impressions, and exceptional livability.
